FRIENDS OF THE SCHOOL COMMITTEE
Would you like to get more involved with your child’s school?
Would you like them to have access to better equipment for learning and play?
If the answer to both questions is Yes then let us introduce you to the Friends of Mill Hill School (PTA)
The Friends are a group of parents who get together to help the staff to raise money for the school, by organising fund raising events. All the money raised goes to help staff purchase extra equipment for their classes, such as books and learning aids.
Money that we have raised has been used recently to provide bins in the playground and the new parents notice board.
We help to organize the after school disco and the winter and summer fairs. We also provide the school leavers with dictionaries at the end of year 6.
Each term we hold informal meetings where both staff and parents discuss fund raising ideas. However we do need help! The only way that we can continue to raise this much needed money for the school, is for more parents to come forward and help us. Don’t worry, as we currently have committee members elected, we won’t be asking you to become chairperson overnight but we do need help organising events, selling raffle tickets or cups of tea and helping us to come up with more ways to raise money.
We know, all too well, that time is precious – family, jobs and the hundreds of ‘other things’ to do, but we also feel that it is worth making an effort to help the school to improve the children’s education – after all they are the most important people in our lives!
So please if you feel that you can help us in any way please let us know. We’re not asking for your names in blood, just a little help every now and then.
Thank you for your support.
